The biggest double hung window I have ever seen at St. Louis Union Station.
I have always been interested in old things and the stories they can tell. I became passionate about historic preservation as I saw the character of places I knew changing. This led me to complete a Master of Science in Historic Preservation degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Following that, I came to New Orleans, motivated to help with recovery from Hurricane Katrina. I worked in FEMA’s Historic Preservation office for five years, cataloging and evaluating buildings and cultural resources. Next, I joined Staub Window Restorations, where I honed my skills as a carpenter and joiner.
I am SOI qualified, and I strive to ensure reversibility, which is one of the most important principles of preservation. I believe that we are temporary stewards of our built heritage and that we should therefore act with caution and consideration. At the same time, I consider myself a creative problem solver, and I believe in finding solutions that meet the needs of current users and realize preservation goals.
